Characteristics

Woody vine; latex white. Leaves coriaceous; petiole 13–40 mm long; lamina ovate-cordate, to 11 cm long, to 9 cm wide, strongly cordate at base, acuminate; secondary veins 4–6 on each side of midrib; colleters 6–11. Inflorescence of several fascicles. Flowers c. 10 mm long, c. 18 mm diam.; pedicels 3–12 mm long. Sepals lanceolate to lanceolate-oblong, 1.5–5 mm long. Corolla rotate, cream; lobes oblong-lanceolate to lanceolate, 2.5–8 mm long, 0.5–3.5 mm wide. Gynostegial corona highly fused, cream, tubular with 5 groups of lobes produced into long, subulate points intertwined above style-head. Follicles fusiform-ovoid, 50–80 mm long.
