Characteristics

Tall, stoloniferous, perennial herb, up to 0.6 m high. Stolons densely covered by brown scales. Largest leaf blade 100-300 mm long, 4-6 mm wide. Inflorescence a congested anthela with 3 or 4 leafy bracts. Anthela 15-20 mm in diameter, consisting of numerous crowded spikelets. Glumes dirty white.
