Characteristics

Robust, stoloniferous, perennial herb, up to 0.7 m high. Largest leaf blades 200-400 x 4-10 mm, flat. Inflorescence a small to large open anthela with 3 or 4 large, leafy bracts. Anthela with one sessile and many pedunculate inflorescences. Spikelets 2.0-4.5 x 0.7-2.0 mm. Glumes straw-coloured to dark brown.
