Leaves sessile, 5–7-foliolate; leaflets ± sessile, elliptic-lanceolate, 6–26 cm. long, 1–6 cm. wide, narrowly acute at the apex, narrowly cuneate at the base, sharply regularly serrate, very discolorous, puberulous above, thickly velvety (like stems) beneath, often hiding the sessile discoid glands; stipules reddish brown, ± membranous, lanceolate, 1.5–2.2 cm. long, 0.5–1.3 cm. wide, pubescent.. Cymes terminal, up to 8 cm. wide; peduncle 1–1.5 cm. long, together with axes pubescent and with sessile glands; pedicels 2–3 mm. long, pubescent and with gland-tipped hairs; bracts crimson, linear-lanceolate, 1–1.2 cm. long, long-attenuate, shaggy pubescent.. Buds oblong, 2.5 mm. long, swollen and with gland-tipped hairs at apex, puberulous below.. Petals white, ± 3 mm. long.. Fruits not seen but fertilised ovaries densely hairy.
