Succulent erect herb 45 cm. tall; stems striate, shortly ferruginous pubescent; tendrils absent.. Leaves 5-foliolate; leaflets subsessile, obovate, 1–5.5 cm. long, 0.5–3.5 cm. wide, rounded at the apex, cuneate at the base, closely crenate, the lobules distinctly rounded, pubescent above with rather thickish pale hairs and densely velvety beneath with similar hairs and the nervation ferruginous; petioles 1.5–10 cm. long, ferruginous velvety; petiolules ± 3 mm. long; stipules lanceolate, 1–2.5 cm. long, 0.4–1 cm. wide, acuminate, ferruginous pubescent.. Cymes sweetly scented, 5–12 cm. wide; peduncles 9–20 cm. long; pedicels 2–4 mm. long; axes ± ferruginous pubescent and ultimate ones and pedicels with short dense gland-tipped hairs; bracts under 1 mm. long.. Buds red, oblong, 2 mm. long, pubescent and with a few apical gland-tipped hairs.. Calyx ± 2 mm. wide, pubescent.. Petals 2.5 mm. long.. Fruits ellipsoid, 7 mm. long, 3.5 mm. wide, densely ± adpressed pubescent and with very short gland-tipped hairs; seed pale, oblong-ellipsoid, 6 mm. long, 5 mm. in diameter, ventral ridge evident, ± 6 lateral transverse ridges ± marked, 3 dorsal ridges evident, the median one the thickest and with ± 6 raised rugae on either side.
