Leaves bright green, thin when dry but often slightly fleshy in life, 3–5-foliolate; leaflets lanceolate to oblong, elliptic or broadly elliptic, 3.5–15.5 cm. long, 1.6–5 cm. wide, acute to acuminate at the apex, cuneate at the base, rather distantly serrate or crenate-dentate, sometimes ± entire near the base, glabrous but white rhaphides ± evident; petioles 1.5–3 cm. long, glabrous; petiolules 0–5 mm. long on central leaflets, laterals ± sessile; stipules ovate to ovate-or oblong-lanceolate, 0.9–1.3 cm. long, 3.5–4 mm. wide, tapering-acute, glabrous.. Cymes on axillary or leaf-opposed branchlets, ± dense or lax, 2.5–15 cm. wide; peduncle 1–7 cm. long, glabrous; pedicels ± 3 mm. or up to 10 mm. long, always enlarging to 5–10 mm. in fruit, ± glabrous or pubescent to puberulous; axes glabrous or ± pubescent particularly at forks; bracts and bracteoles ovate-or oblong-lanceolate, 1–8 mm. long, up to 3 mm. wide, usually conspicuous, glabrous except for ± ciliate margins.. Buds oblong-cylindric, 1.5–3.5 mm. long, constricted above the middle, the upper part often ± 4-lobed (in dry state), not glandular but puberulous at least at junction of petals.. Fruit ellipsoid to ovoid or subglobose, 5–7 mm. long, 3.5–5 mm. wide, glabrous or glabrescent.. Seeds brownish or reddish brown, obovoid, 5–5.5 mm. long, 3.5 mm. wide; ventral ridge evident particularly at ends; dorsal lateral ridges evident but mid-ridge obsolete, smooth except for ± 1 short ridge between; sides with small tubercles and 1–2 ridges; or ventral ridge very strong, raised into a projection basally and dorsal laterals ± not present but 4–5 dorsal tubercles on each side of ± obsolete mid-ridge.
