Erect or scrambling (?) herb ± 1 m. tall from a woody rootstock; stems striate, puberulous and with gland-tipped 2–6 mm. long hairs; tendrils absent.. Leaves sessile, (?2–)3–5-foliolate; leaflets unequal, actually sessile but appearing pseudo-petiolate, narrowly oblanceolate, 2–14 cm. long, 0.4–2 cm. wide, acute at the apex, very narrowly attenuate at the base, serrate, discolorous, minutely puberulous above, velvety tomentose beneath and also with pale sessile scattered discoid glands beneath; main venation pale and slightly raised beneath; stipules triangular-lanceolate, 2 cm. long, 6 mm. wide, long-attenuate at the apex, pubescent at margins.. Inflorescences ± sessile, terminal, and terminal on axillary short shoots, the subtending node with opposite leaves due to suppression of an internode, 8 cm. wide, the axes adpressed pubescent and with gland-tipped hairs ± 1 mm. long; pedicels 5–8 mm. long, pubescent and glandular; bracts and bracteoles linear-lanceolate, 8–10 mm. long.. Corolla not seen.. Fruit ellipsoid, 13 mm. long, 9 mm. wide, densely covered with yellow gland-tipped hairs 2–3 mm. long, splitting in specimen seen but probably not naturally dehiscent.. Seeds pale brown, 10 mm. long, 6 mm. wide; main ventral ridge and ventral parts of 2 and 3 very evident; dorsal ridges narrow with immediately inside each a prominent interrupted crest with 4–5 elements; mid-dorsal ridge (4) obscure; some irregular marked lateral tubercles also present..
