Climbing or prostrate herb; stems tinged red, greyish or ferruginous pubescent and sometimes with gland-tipped hairs near the nodes; tendrils red.. Leaves 3–5-foliolate; leaflets elliptic, obovate or ovate, 3–12.5 cm. long, 1–6.5 cm. wide, acute or almost rounded in outline at apex, cuneate at the base, crenate-dentate, glabrous or with few hairs on nerves above, whitish or pale ferruginous velvety pubescent beneath but venation still apparent and ± reticulate; petiole 2.5–13 cm. long, pubescent and sometimes with scattered gland-tipped hairs; petiolules obsolete or up to 6 mm. long; stipules reddish, lanceolate, 0.4–1.2 cm. long, 2–3 mm. wide, usually falcate, acuminate, pubescent and sometimes with marginal glands.. Cymes much branched, rather compact, 4–10 cm. in diameter; peduncle 2–12.5 cm. long; pedicels 1–3 mm. long; all axes ± ferruginous velvety or tomentose; bracts and bracteoles linear, 1–2 mm. long.. Buds 2–3 mm. long, constricted above the middle, obtusely 4-lobed at apex, sparsely pubescent.. Calyx 0.5 mm. long, entire or ± 4-toothed, pubescent and often glandular.. Petals brown or yellow with crimson tips.. Fruits red, broadly ellipsoid, 6 mm. long, 5 mm. wide, densely shortly pubescent.. Seed oblong-ellipsoid, 5 mm. long, 4.2 mm. wide; ventral ridge rather obscure, widened in the middle with 3–4 radiating broad transverse side ridges; dorsal mid-ridge rather obscure and sunken, laterals evident with ± 5 low tubercles between each and mid-ridge.
