Characteristics

Plants ca. 22 cm tall. Stem ca. 10 cm, covered by 3 subtubular sheaths, apex with an ascending subopposite leaf and bract. Leaf blade green, spotted with purple, ovate-elliptic, 11-13 × 6.5-7 cm, glabrous, apex mucronate. Inflorescence terminal, with a solitary flower, ebracteate; pedicel 10-12 cm, glabrous; ovary ca. 9 mm, glabrous. Flower with purple spots and stripes, 6-7 cm in diam. Dorsal sepal broadly ovate, ca. 3.5 × 2.8 cm, both surfaces glabrous, ciliate, apex mucronate; synsepal elliptic, ca. 4.1 × 2 cm, both surfaces glabrous, ciliate, apex bidentate. Petals obliquely ovate-oblong, ca. 3.8 × 1.5 cm, both surfaces glabrous, ciliate, apex slightly mucronate; lip deeply pouched, subglobose, ca. 1.6 × 1.6 cm, minutely papillate on front surface.
