Leaves succulent, linear to elongate-obovate, dorsiventrally flattened or thick, papillae on surface forming long hairs, apex apically recurved. Flowers solitary or ternate, deep pink. Flowering time spring to late summer. Capsules 5-locular, with no closing bodies, covering membranes absent or reduced to minute ledges, large valve wings, expanding keels parallel for their entire length, locules forming pockets.
