Glabrum, primum compactum, deinde ramos tioriferos patentes vel adscendentes, 6-9 cm. longos, emittens; rami graciles teretes, ad 1.5 mm. diam., internodiis 0.5-2.5 cm. longis; folia heteromorpha, inferiora anguste obovata vel elliptica, 0.9-1.3 cm. longa, medio 6-5 mm. lata, supra leviter convexa, intermedia elongata, apicem versus angustata, ad 3 cm. longa, medio 6 mm. lata, superiora linearia, supra concava, ad 2 cm. longa, ad 4 mm. lata, omnia basin versus angustata, dorso convexa, viridia, papillis inconspicuis; flores solitarii; pedunculi teretes, 2-4 cm. longi; receptaculum cum pedunculo apice dilatato breviter subclavatum, prope apicem leviter constrictum deinde ampliatum, 3 mm. longum, ad 5 mm. diam.; sepala 5, superne subulata, 4-6 mm., rarius ad 7 mm., longa, basi 2-2.5 mm. lata; petala 3-seriata sine intimis in staminodia transeuntibus, exteriora subaequalia, obtusa vel inconspicue emarginata, inferne leviter angustata, purpureo rosea, ad 1.1 cm. longa, ad 1.75 mm. lata, interiora pauca angusta acuminata; staminodia superne recurva, inferne cum filamentis exterioribus ciliate papillata, rosea, ad 5 mm. longa; filamenta conice conferta, pallida, ad 4 mm. longa, interiora supra medium papillata, antheris pollineque pallide luteis; glandulae sat distantes, obscure crenulatae, in genere inter minores; ovarii lobi obtusi, leviter compressi, sordide purpurei, per 0.5-0.75 mm. elevati; stigmata 5, anguste subulata, brevissime caudata, sat grosse papillata, fere ad 3 mm. longa.

Leaves succulent, lower ones narrowly obovate to elliptic, upper ones linear, covered by glassy round bladder cells, narrowing towards apex. Flowers solitary; petals deep pink. Flowering time Aug.-Jan. Capsules honey-coloured, closing bodies absent, valve rims high, covering membranes reduced to parallel ledges, expanding keels parallel for most of their length, diverging at apex and gradually grading into expanding sheets, valve wings rounded, locules forming rounded chambers.
