Perennial, dwarf, caespitose shrublet, up to 0.15 m high, with branches decumbent, with very large tuberous root. Leaves succulent, subterete, channelled above, borne upright with evenly spaced bladder cells, apex acuminate. Flowers solitary or in loose cymes, cream-coloured or white with pale pink centre. Flowering time spring to late summer Capsules pale honey-coloured, 4-or 5-locular, closing bodies absent, covering membranes reduced to a ledge, expanding keels parallel, diverging at apex, valve wings very broad.
