Planta florens compacta, 6 cm. alta; radix tuberosa, apice ramos breves crebros dense foliatos, internodiis inclusis, emittens; partes herbaceae glabrae, inconspicue papillatae, sordide virides; folia fere erecta, flores excedentia, adulta supra infraque plana vel obtuse lateque carinata, vel juniora interdum acute carinata supraque leviter concava, superne angustata, acuta vel acuminata, 4-5 cm. longa cum vagina ad 6 mm. longa, medio 5-9 mm. lata; flores 1-3-nati, lateralibus tarde evolutis; pedunculi 1-2 cm. longi, bracteis breviores; receptaculum cyathiforme vel subclavatum vel demum obconicum, saepe 4 mm. longum, ad 5 mm. diam; sepala 5, acuminata, 5-9, vel in flore senecto 6-12 mm., longa; petala in flore maturo non bene visa, fugitantia ut videtur, in alabastro 3-4-seriata, inferne leviter angustata, saepius acuta vel acuminata, lilacino rosea, infeme pallida, itaque “oculum” formantia, ad 1.5 mm. lata, in flore senecto marcescentia ad 1.6 cm. longa; staminodia acuminata pallida, stamina fere erecta, laxe conferta, bene excedentia; filamenta pallida ad 3 mm. longa, intima incurva, medio longe copioseque papillata, antheris aureis, inapertis 2 mm. longis, breviora; glandulae 5, distantia parvae; ovarium supra valde concavum, lobis vix visis, in flore senectissiomo autem fere planum, medio lobatum, lobis leviter elevatis, obtuse compressis; styli 5, subulata, ad 3 mm. longa.
