Characteristics

Perennial, dwarf shrublet, forming loose clumps becoming caespitose with age, up to 0.15 m high. Leaves succulent, densely arranged, terete, apex acute, glabrous, shiny green with evenly spaced glassy bladder cells. Flowers borne in congested cymes, white or pale lemon with age. Flowering time spring to late summer. Capsules pale honey-coloured, mostly 5-locular, closing bodies absent, covering membranes reduced to a ledge, expanding keels parallel, valve wings broad, narrowing towards apex.
