Characteristics

Glabrum, caule leviter incrassato, ramos fere simplices elongatos procumbentes, ad 20 cm. longos, 1-2 mm. diam., internodiis 1-1.5 cm. longis, emittente; folia erecta imbricataque, lateraliter visa acuta vel acuminata, inferne leviter angustata, supra leviter concava, dorso rotundata, ad 2 cm. longa, 4 mm. lata diametroque; cyma ramum elongatum terminans, sat compacta, vel cymae 2-3 in anno secundo parum infra cymam terminalem evolutae; flores demum 2 cm. diam., diurni; pedunculi saepius ad 1 cm. longi, apice leviter eonstricti; receptaculum turbinatum 5 mm. longum apice 6 mm. diam.; sepala 4-7 mm. longa; petala 1-2-seriata obtusa, infeme haud attenuata, rosea, 7 mm. longa, ad 1 mm. lata; staminodia ad 5.5 mm. longa, late recurvata, inferne pallida; stamina ad 3.5 mm. longa, filamentis albis, intimis supra medium longe papillatis antheris pollineque sordide luteis; glandulae crenulatae; ovarium leviter elevatum, lobis obtusis subdistantibus; stigmata subulata, 2.5 mm. longa.

Leaves grooved on upper surface, domed below, acute to acuminate in side view, surface covered in rounded bladder cells arranged in rows. Flowers 1-3, deep pink. Flowering time spring to late summer. Capsules pale brown, shallow, 5-locular, closing bodies absent, covering membranes reduced to a ledge, expanding keels parallel, valve wings broader than expanding keels.
