Humile, caule ad 1 cm. diam., ramis brevibus confertis, pulvinum formantibus, ramis elongatis reptantibus, ad 30 cm. longis, 1-3 mm. diam., internodiis saepius 1-3 cm. longis; ramuli floriferi erecti, cum floribus ad 4 cm. longi; partes herbaceae velutinae ob papillas capillares minutas; folia adscendentia vel patentia, carinata, supra plana vel demum concava, lat. visa superne ampliata apiceque plusminusve recurvata, apiculata, supra medium ampliatissima, deinde angustata, acuta vel acuminata, ad 1.5 cm. longa, ad 4 mm. lata, ad 5 mm. diam., vagina 0.5-1 mm. longa; pedunculi ad 4 mm. longi, prope basin bracteati, bracteae 3-4 mm. longae; flores 1-2-temati, laterales tardissime evoluti, diurni, corolla ad 1 cm. diam.; receptaculum subclavatum vel interdum obconicum, inter sepala inconspicue 5-sulcata, 3 mm. longa, 4 mm. diam.; sepala 5, carinata acuminata apiculata, in eodem flore 3-4 mm., vel 3-5 mm., vel rarius 4-7 mm., longa; petala 2-seriata, acuta vel obtusa, inf erne vix angustata, purpureo-rosea, ad 4.5 mm. longa, fere ad 1 mm. lata; staminodia staminibus oonfertis adpressa eaque bene superantia, pallida, apice aurea, ad 3 mm. longa; filamenta 1-2.5 mm. longa, alba, interiora medio vel supra parce papillata, antheris pollineque aureis; glandulae valde approximatae, conspicuae crenulatae; ovarium supra fere planum, medio inconspicue lobatum, lobis vix elevatis; stigmata 5, anguste subulata, longe attenuata, 1.5 mm. longa; capsula expansa 8 mm. diam., alis loculi brevissimis angustisque, nullo modo semina obovata pallida tegentibus.
