Perennial, dwarf shrublet, up to 0.4 m high, branches upright, woody. Leaves smooth, flat, oblong to ovate or lanceolate to ovate, keel with prominent midrib. Flowers ternate to 2-nate, deep pink. Flowering time spring to late summer. Capsules pale brown, 5-locular, closing bodies absent, covering membranes reduced to a narrow ledge, valve wings twice as broad as expanding keels.
