Perennial, dwarf shrublet, up to 0.1 m high, creeping branches forming mats. Leaves semi-terete, slightly concave above, base narrowed abruptly into a petiole, covered by rounded bladder cells, apex blunt. Flowers solitary, deep crimson. Flowering time Dec.-Feb. Capsules pale brown, 5-locular, closing bodies absent, covering membranes reduced to a narrow ledge.
