Stems ascending from a decumbent base, their brchs. all rising to ab. the same level and forming a flat-topped cyme: fls. large, magenta or white, 4-5 cm br., lvs. 2.5-5.5 cm x 5-13 mm, lanc. or lin.-lanc., acute: pedic. (above the bracts) 1.5-5 cm. Cal.-tube 10-12 mm br.; the larger lobes 15-20 mm. l.: stig. 4-5 mm. l.: caps. 12-15 mm br.; valves with contiguous minutely ciliate-expanding keels, broadly winged at their sides; loc. open, wingless. Pink to pale lilac or white [flowers].
