Leaves very smooth, glossy, imbricate or spreading, keel acute, slightly concave above, sides flat to slightly convex, acute to acuminate, apiculate. Flowers solitary to 3-nate, purple-pink. Flowering time spring to late summer. Capsules pale brown, 5-locular, closing bodies absent, covering membranes reduced to a ledge.
