Leaf-lamina ovate or ovate-orbicular, 5.5–35 cm. long, 3–21 cm. wide, apex acute, base rounded or cordate, margin scarcely dentate; midrib and 2–3 pairs of basal longitudinal nerves impressed above, prominent beneath, transverse nerves prominent beneath, nerves furfuraceous beneath when young; petiole 1–21 cm. long.. Inflorescence ± 30–40-flowered.. Calyx-tube 8 mm. long, 4 mm. in diameter, furfuraceous to nearly glabrous; lobes 1–2 mm. high.. Petals 13–18 mm. long, 4–5 mm. wide, white or white flushed with pink.. Large anthers 5–10 mm. long, anterior spur 0.7–1 mm. long, posterior spur ± 0.2 mm. long, filament up to 8 mm. long; short anthers 3–7 mm. long, anterior spur 0.2–0.5 mm. long, posterior spur 1 mm. long and parallel to the filament, filament up to 5.5 mm. long.. Calyx-tube accrescent in fruit, enlarging to 13 mm. long, 8 mm. in diameter, enveloping the capsule.
