Subshrubs (young flowering plants herbaceous), green to light green, with a dense cover of rather appressed whitish hairs.. Stems 20–60 cm. high, ± ascending, branched.. Leaves moderately to densely crowded; petioles 4–18 mm. long, 8–30 mm. broad, obtuse, attenuate at base, distantly ± sinuately dentate to subentire.. Racemes with 10–20 showy flowers, only 1–2 in bloom at a time, in ripe fruit up to 30 cm. long; pedicels usually erect or ascending, stiff, 2.5–9 mm. long.. Sepals oblong, obtuse, 8–12 mm. long, ± 1.3 mm. broad.. Petals pale lilac to lilac, probably yellowish with age, ± 25 mm. long; claw 10–13 mm. long; blade broadly spathulate, ± 12 mm. long and ± 10 mm. broad, apically rounded.. Ovary very short.. Siliqua linear, straight, 11–26 mm. long, ± 2.5 mm. broad; septum ± 1.5 mm. broad; valves keeled, each with a laterally projecting ± 5 mm. long horn; style ± 1 mm. long; stigma without or with short lateral projections..
