Characteristics

Erect, much-branched, dwarf shrub or shrub, 0.5-2.0 m high; branches densely strigose. Leaves alternate, digitately 3-5-foliolate, petiolate, estipulate. Leaflets narrowly oblanceolate, usually folded; upper surface glabrous; lower surface and on margins densely strigose-tomentose. Inflorescences terminal racemes, rarely leaf-opposed, 2-5(-10)-flowered. Flowers yellow. Calyx short, barely bilabiate. Petals: standard pubescent at tip. Flowering time Nov.-Mar. Seeds olive-green to dark green, often mottled yellow and green.
