Characteristics

Epiphytic or lithophytic ferns. Rhizome long-creeping, bearing broad thin clathrate scales. Stipes spaced along and articulated to the rhizome. Lamina simple, linear or linear-elliptic, coriaceous, dark green, glabrous; margins entire or undulate; midrib prominent; minor veins immersed in the substance of the frond, mostly without free included veinlets in the areoles. Sori elliptic, round or narrowly oblong, in small depressions in the lamina; paraphyses lacking. Spores pale brown, reticulately tuberculate.
