Characteristics

Plants 300-1050 mm high, forming clumps. Corm 10-20 mm diam. Stem with lowermost peduncle 30-65(-100) mm long. Foliage leaves several, 300-650 x 3.5-6.5 mm; reduced sheathing leaves 3 or 4. Spikes pendulous (rarely suberect), terminal 4-to 7-flowered, laterals 2 to 5, each (1)2-to 6-flowered; bracts obovate, obtuse to acute, mostly 13-20 x 6-12 mm, up to 2 internodes long, lightly to heavily flecked along midline and toward base with broad white shoulders, lateral veins ± 5 each side of main vein. Flowers widely funnel-shaped, mostly pale to dark rose-pink or coral-pink to red, rarely mauve; perianth tube 5-7 mm long; tepals 13-20 x 5-8 mm. Anthers 5.0-6.5 mm long. Stigmas held 7-12 mm below top of perianth.
