Characteristics

Plants 450-1350 mm high, solitary or several stems together forming small tufts. Corm ± 15-30 mm diam. Stem with lowermost peduncle 45-180 mm long. Foliage leaves several to many, 300-900 x 2.5-6.0(-9.0) mm; reduced sheathing leaves 3 or 4. Spikes pendulous, terminal 4-to 11-flowered, laterals (1)4 to 8, each 2-to 10-flowered; bracts lanceolate to oblong-obovate, acute to acuminate, 10-25 x 5-8 mm, rarely up to 2 internodes long, usually lightly to heavily flecked all over or with white margins and shoulders, secondary veins 4 to 6 each side of main vein. Flowers funnel-shaped, pale to dark pink or rarely almost white; perianth tube 5-8(-9) mm long; tepals (10-)13-20(-25) x 5-11 mm. Anthers (5.0-)5.5-8.0 mm long. Stigmas held 2.5-15.0 mm below top of perianth.
