Dierama mobile Hilliard

Plants 0.75-1.5 m high, solitary or a few in small tufts. Corm ± 20 mm diam. Stem with lowermost peduncle (70-)90-230 mm long. Foliage leaves few, 450-750 x 2.5-3.5 mm; reduced sheathing leaves 4 or 5. Spikes pendulous, terminal 8-to 14-flowered, laterals 3 to 5, each 5-to 14-flowered; bracts obovate to elliptic-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, 14-19 x 6-10 mm, ± 2 internodes long, heavily flecked reddish brown toward base, thinning toward shoulders and paler or whitish, lateral veins 4 or 5 each side of main vein. Flowers bell-shaped with tepals suberect and flaring slightly apically, magenta-pink to deep wine-red; perianth tube 5-8 mm long; tepals 8-12(-14) x 4-5 mm. Anthers 5-6(-7) mm long. Stigmas held 2-7 mm below top of perianth.
