Characteristics

Plants 0.8-1.0 m high, solitary or a few stems tufted together. Corm 20-25 mm diam. Stem with lowermost peduncle 55-130 mm long. Foliage leaves few, 450-550 x 2.5-4.0 mm; reduced sheathing leaves 4 or 5. Spikes pendulous, terminal 6-to 11-flowered, laterals 2 to 5(7), each 4-to 9-flowered; bracts obovate, obtuse or cuspidate, 12-18 x 5-9 mm, mostly 2 internodes long, solidly to heavily flecked or paler on shoulders, lateral veins 6 to 8 each side of main vein. Flowers funnel-shaped, pale to deep mauve-pink; perianth tube 5.5-7.5 mm long; tepals 14-23 x 5.0-7.5 mm. Anthers 5.5-7.0(-8.0) mm long. Stigmas held (7-)8-12 mm below top of perianth.
