Characteristics

Spikes erect, the terminal one 4–6-flowered, lateral spikes 2–5-flowered; flowers moderately crowded (bracts up to 2 internodes long); floral bracts 13–15 mm long, elliptic-obovate, acute to shortly acuminate, white lightly flecked nearly all over, or more strongly flecked all over and then the midline solidly coloured red-brown; main veins 5 on each side of the midvein, fading out in the lower half of the bract, 0.3–0.4 mm apart but the intermediate veins often strongly developed.

Leaves several, the basal ones absent at flowering time (only the burnt bases of previous seasons growth present, these 3–4 mm wide); sheathing cauline leaves 6, these c. 250–400 × 3–4 mm.
Flowers light magenta-pink, 21–22 mm long; perianth tube 5.5–6 mm long, tepals 15.5–16 × 5.5–6 mm.
Stigmas reaching 4–6 mm below the tepal apices.
Stems 45–50 cm long, 2–3-branched.
Corms 8 mm in diameter.
Anthers 6.5–7 mm long.
