Characteristics

Plants ± 450-850 mm high, in small clumps. Corm ± 20-40 mm diam. Stem with lowermost peduncle 45-120 mm long. Foliage leaves several, 300-600 x 3.5-8.5 mm; reduced sheathing leaves 3 or 4. Spikes erect, terminal 6-to 9-flowered, laterals 4 to 8, 4-to 7-flowered; bracts lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, 14-20 x 4-6 mm, ± 2 internodes long, lightly flecked all over and midline often uniformly orange-brown, especially in upper part, secondary veins 5 or 6 each side of main vein. Flowers funnel-shaped with tepals widely flaring, pale to bright magenta-pink; perianth tube 5-6 mm long; tepals 14-18 x 4.5-7.0 mm. Anthers 6.5-8.5 mm long. Stigmas held 5-9 mm below top of perianth.
