Inflorescence of 6–20 subfastigiate racemes borne upon a central axis 2–10 cm. long; racemes 4–15 cm. long, with a slender triquetrous rhachis bearing spikelets in groups of 2–4; pedicel-tips bearing several long white setae overtopping the spikelets.. Spikelets elliptic, 1.2–1.3 mm. long; both glumes absent; lower lemma much reduced, broadly triangular to broadly elliptic, hyaline, 1-nerved, 1/6–1/3 as long as the spikelet; fruit ellipsoid, chestnut brown.
