Characteristics

Plants 90-270 mm; leaves 2, cauline, opposite, ovate, sometimes purple beneath, normally 30 x 20 mm. Inflorescences subcorymbose, 1-4 (-5)-flowered; bracts ovate, 5-20 x 3-15 mm. Flowers white, petals streaked green within; ovary narrowly cylindrical, twisted, 13-20 mm long. Median sepal forming a slender elongate tubular spur, projecting at 45°, 8-11 mm long; lateral sepals obliquely obovate to semi-orbicular, acute, 5-8 x 3-5 mm, spurs conical, 0.75 mm long. Petals adnate to the median sepal, falcate, oblong, 6-7 x 4-5 mm. Lip basally fused to the gynostemium, ascending; claw linear, incurved at the apex, 8 mm long; blade ligulate, 0.75 mm long; appendage paired, hanging over the blade, irregularly lobed, 0.75 mm long. Anther horizontal; stigmas linear along the anterior margin of the lateral rostellum lobes; rostellum arms suberect, 0.75 mm long.

Herb, up to 200 mm tall. Leaves cauline, 2, opposite. Dorsal sepal with a narrowly, elongate hood, 10-12 mm long. Lip with a short folded limb, appendage bilobed at tip. Flowers white with a lilac flush.
Dorsal sepal joined to petals to form a slender spur 12–20 mm long; lateral sepals 7–10 × 3–5 mm, obliquely obovate, joined for about half their length, each with a conical, sac-like spur 1–1.5 mm long.
Leaves 2, opposite, almost sessile, mid to dark green, sometimes tinged with purple below, 2.5–5.5 × 2.5–3.7 cm, ovate, acute, sheathing at base.
Lip not reaching the spur apex, doubling back for 1–1.5 mm; the appendage consisting of 2 fimbriate lobes c. 1.5 mm long; lip claw 8–15 mm long.
Inflorescence 1–3(7)-flowered; flowers white with green or purplish marks, the hood green-veined inside.
Terrestrial herb 6–30 cm tall; tubers 1–1.5 × 1 cm, ovoid or globose, woolly.
Petals falcate, auriculate at the base.
Ovary and pedicel 13–17 mm long.
Bracts 9–17 mm long, leaf-like.
