Leaves in spirals; lamina chartaceous, oblong to elliptic, (4–)6–23(–29) × (2–)4–10 cm., apex acute to acuminate, base cuneate to subobtuse or sometimes subattenuate, margin entire, crenulate-dentate or sometimes deeply pinnately incised; upper surface glabrous, lower surface puberulous to sometimes hirtellous; lateral veins (4–)6–10 pairs; petiole 0.5–3.5 cm. long, 1–2 mm. thick; stipules subulate, up to 0.2 or 0.4–0.9 cm. long, subpersistent.. Inflorescences solitary or in pairs; peduncle 0.5–4 cm. long, 1–1.5 mm. thick, broadened towards the receptacle.. Receptacle ± funnel-shaped, orbicular, 0.7–2.5 cm. in diameter, margin 0.5–1 mm. wide; flowering face subcircular to multiangularorsubstellate, with 8–12(–14) 0.5–1.5 mm. long lobes; appendages in 1 row, up to 40, tooth-like, linear, spathulate or clavate, 1–40 mm. long..
