Leaves in spirals; lamina chartaceous to subcoriaceous when dry, subobovate or obovate, 6–15 × 2–5 cm., apex acute to obtuse, base cuneate to obtuse or cordate, margin entire, sometimes coarsely dentate; upper surface scabrous, lower surface scabrous, partly puberulous (mainly on the veins) or minutely puberulous to yellowish hirtellous; venation impressed and conspicuous above, lateral veins 6–10 pairs; petiole 0.5–1.5 cm. long, 1–3 mm. thick; stipules narrowly triangular to subulate, 2–4.5 mm. long, subpersistent.. Inflorescences solitary or sometimes in pairs; peduncle 0.5–1.2 cm. long..
