Leaves in spirals; lamina chartaceous to papyraceous when dry, elliptic to subovate, (1–)3–13(–20) × (1–)2–5(–7) cm., apex acute to faintly acuminate, base cuneate to attenuate, margin irregularly, coarsely to faintly dentate; upper surface glabrous or sparsely puberulous on the midrib, lower surface glabrous or sparsely puberulous on the main veins; lateral veins 4–9 pairs; petiole 0.5–3(–4) cm. long, 0.5–1 mm. thick, mainly adaxially puberulous; stipules subulate, ± 1 mm. long, caducous..
