Spikelet (5)6-8 x ± 2 mm; glumes ± equal, about as long as spikelet, membranous; sterile lemmas similar, scabrous to shortly hairy, apices usually muticous; 2nd sterile lemma with a pair of ear-like appendages at base; anther 2.8-3.9 mm long.
