Characteristics

A herb. It can have trailing or climbing stems. These grow from a woody rootstock. The leaflets are 5-15 cm long by 3-5 cm wide. They are narrowly oval. There can be a lobe on one side. The fruit is a pod 2-3 cm long and it is densely hairy. There is 1 or 2 seeds. The seeds are 3-4 mm long by 2 mm wide and 1 mm thick.

Mature leaflets discolorous, 4.8–14.5 × 2.8–4.5 cm, narrowly ovate to narrowly elliptic, occasionally lobed on one side, appressed pilose on upper side, more densely appressed pilose on the underside; petiole (0.5)1.5–6 cm long; rhachis 1.5–2 cm long; petiolules 2–4 mm long.
Calyx 5–10(12) mm long, pilose with silvery hairs, the underlying surface blackening on drying, 5-lobed, the upper two lobes almost completely fused, all lobes tipped with (1)2 pedicellate glands 1–3 mm long or glands sometimes absent.
Inflorescence a pseudoraceme or panicle, with 1–several flowers in each fascicle, the fascicles often more crowded towards the apex of the inflorescence; pedicels 3–5 mm long.
Herb with trailing or climbing stems, from a woody rootstock.
Pods 1.5–2.5 cm long, densely pilose, 1–2-seeded.
Corolla 1–1.8 cm long.
