Small shrub, with rather short (5–20(–30) cm.) spreading flowering branchlets; twigs subterete to slightly compressed, hispidulous with short and very short spreading hairs.. Leaves smaller towards the base of flowering branchlets, grading to bud-scales; petioles 0–3(–5) mm. long; lamina thinly coriaceous, dark green, elliptic-lanceolate to ovate, 1–6 cm. long, 0.6–2.5(–3.5) cm. wide, obtuse to acute, often slightly acuminate, at the apex (smaller proximal ones broader and blunter), minutely puberulous towards the base especially near the midvein, with 4–6 pairs of lateral nerves, lower ones or all ascending or curved-ascending.. Flowers 4–6 per umbel; peduncle and pedicels subglabrous to hispidulous; peduncle 2–4 mm. long; pedicels 3–5 mm. long; bract bluntly triangular from a shallow cup, 1–1.5 mm. long, ciliolate.. Receptacle 1–1.5 mm. long.. Calyx 0.3–0.5 mm. long, erose, ciliolate.. Corolla 2–2.5 cm. long, greenish white to white or grey with pink tips; buds swollen at the base, bossed over vents, narrow, 4-angular and wrinkled above, ending in a narrow apical swelling 5 mm. long, slightly apiculate; tube 4–5 mm. long, with V-slit extending ± to base, hispidulous-papillate along sutures in upper half; lobes reflexed to loosely revolute about the middle, linear-spathulate, expanded at the base with the inner face darker and hardened.. Stamen-filaments 13–16 mm. long, dark red at the base, tapering upwards, slender, loosely coiled in upper part, extended at the base into a ridge ± 1 mm. down corolla-tube and minutely hispidulous-papillate or verruculose on the sides; tooth inserted a little below the anther, 0.4–0.7 mm. long; anthers 3–4.5 mm. long.. Berry red, obovoid, 5 mm. long, 3–4 mm. in diameter; seed blue-grey.
