Glabrous shrub to 1 m. or so; twigs slightly compressed.. Petiole 2–4 mm. long; lamina coriaceous, dark green, elliptic-lanceolate, 6–13 cm. long, 1–6 cm. wide, acuminate at the apex, cuneate to slightly rounded at the base, sometimes slightly undulate at edges, with 6–8 pairs of obscure lateral nerves.. Flowers 2–4 in axillary umbels; peduncles 1–2 mm. long; pedicels 1.5–6 mm. long; bract saucer-shaped with a small limb, 1–2 mm. long, gibbous.. Receptacle 1–2 mm. long.. Calyx cupular, 0.8–1 mm. long, ciliolate.. Corolla 4–5 cm. long, red or orange to base of vents, yellow around slits, darker orange or red above; buds slender, with a slight terminal swelling 3.5–6 mm. long; tube rather slender, slightly broadened upwards, 2.5–3.5 cm. long, with a short V-split; lobes erect, linear-spathulate, very slightly hardened inside.. Filaments green, transversely corrugated; tooth subulate, 0.7 mm. long; anthers 3 mm. long.. Berry not seen.
