Characteristics

Corolla 1.3–2 cm long, orange or orange-yellow, sometimes a little reddish towards apex (and ?base); buds 4-angular below, slightly bossed at the vents, transversely wrinkled above, with smooth slight apical swelling 5–6 mm long; tube 5–10 mm long, with V-slit extending to calyx, minutely papillose inside along sutures; lobes reflexed, linear.

Petiole 3–8 mm long, sometimes glandular-puberulous in groove; lamina thin to slightly coriaceous, reddish-brown to dark green, 2.5–10 × 1–3.5 cm, lanceolate to ovate-elliptic, acuminate, basally cuneate, glabrous, with 6–8 pairs of lateral nerves, the lower 2–4 strongly ascending.
Stamen filaments green, extended 2–3 mm down corolla tube as a raised and abruptly terminated ridge, free part tightly coiled, green; tooth 0.5–1 mm long, inserted slightly below the anthers; anthers 3–5.5 mm long.
Flowers 4–10 per umbel; peduncle and pedicels glabrous to scurfy glandular-puberulent; peduncle 1–3 mm long; pedicels 3–8 mm long; bract 1.5–3 mm long, ovate-triangular from a shallow cup, gibbous, ciliolate.
Stems spreading to 1 m or so; twigs slightly compressed, glabrous or rarely with short spreading glandular evanescent hairs at base of young shoots.
Calyx 1.5–2 mm long, ciliolate.
Receptacle 1–1.5(2) mm long.
Berry 8 × 4 mm, obovoid.
