Stems well branched, to 1 m. long; twigs tomentose with stellate and sometimes some short dendritic hairs, glabrescent.. Leaves opposite or subopposite, soon clustered on short shoots; petiole 1–2 mm. long; lamina ovate-lanceolate, oblong-lanceolate or oblong-oblanceolate, 1.7–3.5 cm. long, 0.4–1.5 cm. wide, narrowed to the base, stellate-pubescent on both surfaces, obscurely nerved.. Heads terminal on short shoots, (2–)4-flowered; peduncle 1.5–2.5 cm. long; bract leafy, oblong-elliptic, 5–20 mm. long, 4–6 mm. wide.. Receptacle 1.5–2 mm. long, white hairy.. Calyx 1–1.5 mm. long, tomentose at least towards the top.. Corolla 4–5 cm. long, greenish yellow to pale orange, sometimes marked pink or red, the basal part sometimes green, the lobes yellow to slightly orange, stellate tomentose with some longer little branched hairs on the tube, the basal swelling nearly glabrous at least below, the lobes sparsely stellate-pubescent and glabrescent; basal swelling 4–5 mm. long; constriction 1–2 mm. long, hairy inside; upper dilated part of tube 6–8 mm. long..
