Characteristics

Dwarf shrub, much branched, 0.15-0.60 m high. Branches sturdy and erect, leaves with plumose (feather-like) hairs. Leaves 4-nate; on short side shoots; spreading to erect, overlapping; blade linear, 2-4 mm long. Flowers: in masses, forming plumes; pedicels hairy; anthers with broad and somewhat serrated awns; style exserted; ovary with long, straight hairs; calyx hairy; corolla bell-or urn-shaped, narrowing to mouth, up to 3 mm long, glabrous, sticky, purple to pink or white; Jan.-Aug.

Die blomsteel is 2-4 mm lank, die twee boonste skutblaartjies 0.5 mm lank, die onderste een 1 mm lank. Die kelkblare is 1.5 mm lank, die kroon 3 mm lank en ewe breed.
