Erect shrub, 0.3-1.5 m high. Leaves 3-nate, 3-5 mm long, densely imbricate on short branchlets, incurved or spreading, ovate and subopen-backed to linear-lanceolate and sulcate, glabrous and shiny when mature. Flowers terminal, solitary at ends of crowded, short branchlets forming a pseudo-raceme. Calyx sepals lanceolate-oblong, acute, thick and rigid, keeled or thickened at margins and sulcate. Corolla 24-30 mm long, clavate-tubular, curved, ± pubescent, viscidulous in lower half; tube pink to red, throat and lobes greenish yellow; lobes small, continuous, obtuse. Anthers subexserted, linear-lanceolate, appendiculate; pore 1/2 length of theca; appendages ± 1/2-3/4 length of theca, slender, pendulous. Ovary 4-locular, oblong, not emarginate; style exserted, decurved at apex, slightly swollen at base; stigma simple. Flowering time Sept.-May.
