Characteristics

Erect, rigid shrub up to about 30 cm (1 ft) occasionally 75 cm (2 1/2 ft). Branches hispidulous. Leaves sub-6-nate, 5-7 mm long, crowded, spreading and incurved or subsquarrose, linear, sulcate, glabrous, glandular-ciliate. Flowers umbellate; peduncles 10-14 mm long, glandular-pubescent; bracts approximate, foliaceous, 5-6 mm long. Sepals slightly exceeding the bracts, foliaceous, linear-lanceolate, acuminate, glandular. Corolla 10-14 mm long, tubular-inflated, glandular-pubescent, pink. Anthers manifest, 2 mm long, oblong, lateral, very shortly decurrent-aristate. Ovary turbinate, thinly puberulous; style shortly exserted; stigma capitate.
