Leaves 4-nate, erect to semi-spreading, imbricate or just shorter than internodes, 2-4 x 1 mm, oblong to lanceolate, adaxially rounded to subflattened with shortly stalked glands, abaxially rounded, margin distinct but obtuse with a few sessile glands, narrowly sulcate, pubescent; petiole adpressed, 0.5 mm long, puberulous. Inflorescence: flowers 4-nate in 4-6 whorls, a condensed raceme, terminal on main branches and secondary branchlets; pedicel 0.8 mm long, pubescent; bract non-recaulescent and leaf-like in lowest whorls, 1.5-3.0 mm long, partially recaulescent up to subapproximate and reducing slightly in size in uppermost whorl, green; bracteoles absent. Calyx 4-lobed, 2.0 x 1.5 mm, cyathiform to ovoid, obtusely angled the angles alternating with the lobes, with distinct obtuse ridge running down midrib below sulcus, pubescent, thick in texture, green; lobes 0.5 mm long, triangular, erect, subbroadly sulcate for their length. Corolla 4-lobed, 3.0-4.0 x 0.5 mm, elongate tubular, smooth, pink; lobes erect, 0.3 mm long, broadly deltoid, subacute, entire. Stamens 4, free, exserted; filaments slightly longer than corolla, linear, straight, glabrous, slightly widened below anther; anther basifixed, subbipartite, oblong, dark brown, muticous; thecae 1.5 x 0.2 mm, narrowly obovate, slightly aculeate; pore 1/2 as long as theca; pollen in monads. Ovary 2[3]-locular, 0.8 x 0.4 mm, ellipsoid, subacute, glabrous, with large basal nectaries; ovules 1 per locule, pendulous, placenta apical; style exserted, slightly exceeding the anthers, glabrous; stigma simple truncate.
