Characteristics

Much-branched shrub, up to 0.3 m high. Leaves whorled, 3-or 4-nate, 2.5-3.0 mm long including petioles. Flowers in small, terminal clusters; pedicel 1.5 mm long; bracts 1-3, variable in size, median to subapproximate. Calyx sepals 1.5 mm long, linear to lanceolate, appressed to corolla, obtuse, pubescent. Corolla 3 mm long, urceolate sometimes campanulate; lobes spreading, 1/3-1/2 length of corolla, pubescent to hirsute, white. Filaments slender, slightly flexuous; anthers included, 0.7 mm long; appendages narrow-crested. Ovary turbinate, hispidulous; stigma capitate, included. Flowering time Dec.-Mar.
