Erect, 1-1 1/2 ft. high; branches flexuous or subvirgate; internodes elongating on the upper branches; leaves erect or spreading, crowded below, incurved, linear, acute, glabrous, about 3 lin. long; flowers sub-sessile; bracts approximate, lanceolate-linear or subulate-linear, acute, keeled, scarious, 3 lin. long; sepals like the bracts, but somewhat longer, 3-6 lin. long; corolla-tube cylindrical, sometimes slightly inflated below, sometimes at the throat, glabrous, red or rosy, about 5 lin. long; limb subovoid, mealy, white, dark-centred, 1 1/2 lin. long, 1 1/2-2 1/2 lin. wide; anthers oblong or suboval, pallid, 5/12 lin. long, muticous; pore 1/4-1/3 the length of the cell; style included.
Erect shrublet to 50 cm. Flowers medium to large, tubular with large spreading lobes, red tube with pink or white lobes with dark, central ring.
