Characteristics

Stout, erect shrub, but tending to lean against rocks, up to 60 cm (3 ft). Branches pubescent. Leaves 6-nate, 6-8 mm long, spreading-incurved, imbricate, linear, glabrous or minutely pubemlous and gland-ciliate. Flowers mostly axillary towards the ends of the branches, sometimes apparently terminal; peduncles 10 mm long, pubescent, viscid; bracts 2 approximate, 1 median, foliaccous, about 6 mm long. Sepals 6 mm long, oblong or lanceolate, subobtuse, concave, thick, rigid, fohaceous, glabrous, viscid, pallid. Corolla 2.4-3.0 cm long, clavate-tubular, slightly curved, glabrous, extremely viscid, red with green to yellow, erect lobes. Anthers subincluded, 2 mm long, lateral, oblong, muticous. Ovary turbinate, very shortly stipitate, glabrous; style exserted; stigma capitate.
