Characteristics

Erect shrublet, up to 0.3 m high. Leaves 3-nate, erect, 2.0-2.5 x 0.3-0.4 mm, linear, obtuse, sulcate, setose to puberulous. Flowers terminal, 3-nate, at apex of axillary branches; pedicels, glabrous, 2.5-3.0 mm long; bracts 3, remote, median, 1 mm long, linear, subequal, puberulous and short-ciliate. Calyx sepals lanceolate, puberulous, short-ciliate, 1 mm long, apex grooved, obtuse, pink. Corolla ± 1.5 mm in diam., urceolate, rose-tinted to pink, glabrous; tube 2 mm long, slightly contracted; lobes 0.5 mm long, slightly rounded, obtuse, slightly expanded. Filaments flexuose, 1 mm long; anthers 0.6 mm long, ovate, obtuse; awn 0.25 mm long, slender, curved. Ovary globose, sparsely puberulous; style thick, 2 mm long, stigma slightly exserted, capitellate. Flowering time May-July.
