Characteristics

Erect, glabrous shrub up to 45 cm (lift) or so. Leaves 3-nate, 4-8 mm long, linear, subtrigonous, acute, mucronate, more or less spreading. Flowers in terminal umbels of 3-8 flowers; peduncles i-i-4 cm long; bracts median, slender. Sepals 5-8 mm long, lanceolate, acuminate, sulcate, viscid, deep red. Corolla variable, 8-i4 mm long, suburccolatc and not much inflated or subampullaceous with a thin neck, viscid, pale flesh-coloured with a darker throat; lobes j-6 mm long, stellately spreading, ovate acute or obtuse. Filaments slender, dilated below the anther and much crumpled and bent; anthers included, 3 mm long, subcrescent-shaped, acute, prognathous and bilobed at the base, pallid, muticous. Ovary subturbinate, elongate and on a short stipe; style included; stigma capitate.
